I just bought my new to me LS 460 6 weeks ago and so it was time to do the first oil change for me and when I went to take the oil filter cap off it was put back on extremely tight by the Lexus Dealership, I am assuming they put it back on with an air impact but anyways as I was taking it off the plastic "fins" which the oil filter wrench grab onto get broken. When I finally got the oil filter cap off I was pretty upset to see that it was a plastic housing, this should be metal. Almost every other manufacturer uses a metal housing, so then i was even more upset to see that from lexus the pos plastic cap is 95 dollars but I can get a really nice metal one for 16 bucks plus shipping from rock auto so that makes me a bit happier but I am still a little miffed that Lexus decided to use plastic and even more upset that they dealership put it on so darn tight.
