Latest LS500 renderings
Some new renderings of the 5LS from our friends at Club Lexus; these seem to match up the most with the spy shots i've seen.
Also some crazy rumors of a TT 3.0L V6, mirrorless doors and a substantial price hike.

The price hike seems a bit unreasonable, especially comparing it to the 740i base with the 6 banger. It starts at $80k.
However, the 5L starting at $95k is reasonable as that's precisely what the 750i starts at.
I doubt they would price the V6 at the same price of BMW's TT V8. No one would buy it.
I personally think the LS 400 (assuming the V6 is called that), starts at $79k while the LS 500 at $90k or thereabouts.

Yeah I agree, pricing isn't going to be that aggressive.

i see a avalon/camry rear end, total down grade.
im telling ya , after 2006 the newer modles look worse then there predesseors even though there supposed to look better.

The rear-end has Avalon all over it.
I personally liked the edgier, much more aggressive design posted in previous threads.
And can we please get some better wheel selections? These look like Honda Accord wheels.
Im also wondering just how much pricing will matter, and how much attention this model will garner, especially with the coming of the G90 and simply other more attractive choices.

Yeah I don't like the rear end either. This rendering does look too much like the Avalon. While I personally like the look of the Avalon, I wouldn't want the LS to look like it, which this rendering does.

As far as the rendering, as Steve pointed out, it's just someone's idea of what it will look like, not anything official from Lexus. I do agree that if this is what they go with I would be very disappointed.
I also still prefer the time when you could differentiate models more easily. Like the 2001 model lineup where every car looked different enough to distinguish from a distance without looking at the badges. Sometimes I can't even tell if I'm looking at a Lexus or a Toyota.

The rear end resembles the LC500. This may be the design theme they are aiming for. I don't care for the weird pointy shapes of the tail light cluster, and hopefully it will be more toned down and elegant on the LS500.

Here's a side-by-side comparison of the recent rendering and photo of the concept.
Just something about the shape of the lights in the rendering that is very Avalon like versus the concept

Only time will tell and Lexus is keeping the next generation LS in suspense for now.

There was a recent article that talked about that Japanese magazine render and in it discussed the potential dimensions. It said there was just one size: large and it will be 15 mm longer than the current L. That would mean the car is roughly 206 inches in length versus the current 200 inches and 205 inches for the L.
Yikes, that might not fit in my garage. I hope they offer two wheelbases although with the competition moving to one, that seems unlikely.
If it won't work, I'm either keeping this or buying an S7. Or, tear out the dang shelves in my garage, although I would rather not. Guess we will see.

Makes perfect sense. Everybody else in the US except for Lexus and Jaguar has gone to one length, the LWB length. Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Genesis, Cadillac all have one length, and its 206-207 inches...
It'll fit in your garage. I thought the LWB wouldn't fit in mine either but it would.
