Where did you see that it was delayed? I haven't received any notification about that, I pre-ordered back on Aug 23rd.
If I recall correctly, that beta tester was using it on a completely different generation navigation system, not the one that is being released this week.

The crashing.. i would think it's more to do with the Android system crashing.. I am guessing the NAV screens act as a touch screen monitor.. I do hope you are right though.

Ok guys sorry for the delay in response. Been very busy at work still and trying to balance work/family. Anyways here is a quick update. I don't have all the answers to your questions simply because I haven't tried it.
1. Start up takes a good minute for the boot up, but they said they were working on a quick start up screen. It doesn't matter to me much since it helps with practicing patience.
2. It does have a HDMI but not sure if its in or out.
3. For the older models like mine 07-09 it's no possible to swipe to get past some screens especially once your in app. This was frustrating since I would get stuck with nowhere to get me back to the home screen. So I couldn't do anything unless I turned car off and back on. Not possible in traffic so, normal audio input it was.
The best purchase after that frustrating commute was a Bluetooth keyboard with a touch pad. I'll post picture of what I bought. It has made a world of difference. Even just navigating is the best. Personally this was the make it or break it moment. I will for sure keep it now.
4. It can be a bit slow but what do you expect? I'm just happy my 07 can do more than most newer cars can do. Froze maybe once in two weeks.
5. If your an apple guy all you can really do is play music and that's about it. Not much functionality due to apple car play control.
6. Netflix still didn't work for me.
7. GPS is off. I haven't sent them an email about that so Google maps didn't work right and neither did Waze.
8. It's running on Android 5.1.1 so some apps didn't show up, so just goto the web browser and get the apk and install directly to system (side load). I got VEVO, YouTube music and some other apps that way.
9. Voice recognition is decent. They provided their own mic upon install and own GPS module.
10. Switches to backup camera in reverse, but you have to press audio button in car to go back to home screen.
11. Even just for Spotify and Pandora it would be worth it. Kinda. YouTube is cool too.
Remember guys this is basically it's own unit. Your navigation screen is all its using from the car to act as a display.
Still need to test a movie from USB stick and see if it plays.
I also purchase a multi port USB thing.
Hope this sheds more light on unit.
I would have bought this even if I wasn't a beta tester!!!
I'll try to do a video if they don't release anytime soon. No guarantees..

UGH....sounds like I'll be passing on this one. Sigh.
Just once, I'd like to see something work as advertised....no drama, no standing on one leg while holding one finger in the air and singin', "Yankee Doodle", in order to make something work as it should.

I hit them up when I first heard about this here..Actually looking at the box now.
I ordered it and then changed my mind about adding stuff to this car while im building my 430 and BMW projects. ..I even pulled the Aftermarket subs , iVIC and posted the new coilovers for sale.
BTW, they include a usb extension and gps antenna...along with the video/audio cords.
My sell this in the classifieds too..i dunno yet.

Couldn't you just upgrade the internals? At the very least the RAM?

no.. everything is soldered on-board on these things. The Vline spec is similar to a $35 Rasberry pi mini computers.. I hope everything is smooothhhhhh.. we'll see this weekend when you and I both report our findings..
pretty bad review from the IS-F that installed it recently...

He confirmed my fears.. I might be returning the units shortly after my install. I want to confirm the 1 minute load up time, bluetooth sound not lowering when a call comes in.
I've used and installed about 5 different Grom modules in the past. Overall, I liked and recommend them. Their bluetooth add-on is really a miss. Low quality sound/music and the almost useless microphone. We'll see, I might fall in love with the vLine.
