Default Parking LS460 outside for winter

In VA today, it was 100° for most of the day, which makes the timing of this post odd. But I live in a townhouse with no garage. This upcoming winter would be my first with my LS460 RWD. I have a Jeep that I would probably use for snow/winter. I'm curious to know if anyone else has the same situation as me and what you do if you sit your car for a while. I'm curious about car covers, battery tenders, etc. I've never had a car nice enough to worry about these types of things. Ha! Thanks

I would drive it through the winter. We don't get so much snow here that you need to stop driving a RWD car. Just drive your Jeep on snowy days.

I live in suburban MD and I had a RWD LS400 and a RWD LS430. Drove them all winter.

I don't know how long a "while" is, but if it is for several months I would do the following. Fill the tank and add a fuel stabilizer. Buy a battery tender, CTEK makes excellent ones. Inflate the tires to about 40 psi. If moisture may be present, buy a desiccant to put in the car. Make sure the car is clean, inside and out. Wash the exterior and wax it, or even better apply a coating. Refer to our Automotive Care & Detailing forum for specifics.

If you are only going to store it during the week and drive on nice weekends, you don't need to do any of the above (except maybe for the paint protection). However, you should get a good breathable cover. I have bought covers from Car Cover World. Wait an watch for their 10% off sale which they run periodically. Their best cover is the Weathershield HD, I recommend it. Otherwise browse through their selections and pick what you think is best for your situation.

Place some Fresh Cab mouse repellent packs in the trunk, cabin and engine compartment to keep out the vermin. Here is the info and where to buy: www.earthkind.com
BTW! I have been using Fresh Cab for years on my cars that sit outside and it really works!

We dont get as much snow or low temps as you do in this part of Canada, but I keep my car outside all winter long, but I do drive it all winter as well. A battery tender is sage advice. I use one on my motorhome as it doesn't get used all winter. A good coat of paint treatment (wax, polish or whatever), will keep in good shape. I use Klasse and it lasts all winter and Spring.

Mine keeps hiding tools, but I still take my chances and park my car in there
