Same here. They send out a guy to approve the repairs. In the mean time they stick you in a loaner so there's never any down time for you. None of my repairs have been denied yet since they've all been warranted and pretty cut out as failed (although I still wonder if the warranty company will bother getting reimbursed for the brake actuator). Ironically my control arms are fine as of my last maintenance. But the SA's that I work with are great people and will actually have a tech take you out back to show you what the issue is if you're skeptical and also ride along with you to get your feedback, etc.
Experience with 3rd party warranties is going to differ with each individual. I can't say that one persons experience is representative of all experiences. The LS is a very reliable vehicle but it also has some very expensive parts and some of those parts I'd rather not pay for out of pocket in the off chance they decide to fail. As much as I like working on cars myself, sometimes I just don't have the time to deal with some issues and having peace of mind is worth it for me.
Either way, my $900 warranty has paid for itself many times over. With the parts I've had replaced there's no way I would have done all of it for less than $900 even with me doing all the work. On the other hand my situation is a unicorn since I've been the only person to find a warranty this inexpensive that covers practically everything apart from maintenance items and cosmetic damage.

Has anyone purchased a CPO warranty in Texas? If so, what's the process and cost? I'm looking at several 2013/2014 LS460 F Sports that aren't currently under CPO but have low mileage (less than 30k). It makes sense to buy one for $43k - $48k (non CPO) than pay 53k - 60k for the ones I'm finding at the Lexus dealerships.

You cannot buy a used car and pay a dealership to issue a CPO warranty. The warranty comes with a CPO car that you buy at the Lexus dealership. Typically, the CPO process and warranty adds about 3K to the selling price.

Sorry, maybe i'm using the term CPO incorrectly.

I can purchase a 2013 model from a non-Lexus dealer with 25k miles for around $43k. The original warranty will run out August 2017 or at 50k miles. I'm trying to figure out if I can extend the original warranty to say 7yrs/100k miles(or longer), but I want a Lexus warranty...not a 3rd party warranty.

Buying a CPO from the dealership is is much more expensive and it's difficult to find the color combo I want (white/black leather with ML). When I find low mileage CPO F-Sport cars the dealer is wanting around $52k - $60k for them.

Just curious if anyone has done this and what they're paying for extended warranties.

Yes, I will be getting a Lexus Platinum warranty very soon before my 4 yr/50K new car warranty runs out. This topic was just discussed on another thread. Scroll down to the most recent 6-7 messages about warranty quotes and whom to buy from.

Happy to help. If you end up going this route, contact Toby Rivers at Shreveport Lexus for the warranty.
