Default No power from cigarette outlet in center console

08 LS600hL. The cigarette/power outlet in center console shorts out instantly. I can't find any posts where anyone else has had a similar problem. I have changed the fuse a couple times. Tested several different plugs. The ashtray and rear console power outlets both work perfectly. Nothing else seems to have any issues, radio, windows, climate, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is somewhere there are two wires touching and blowing the fuse. A very frustrating situation. It can be so hard to find where the short is. I guess I would start with the actual outlet. See if you can pull it out and see if there is any problem there.

I think that the plug itself might be the problem. It is an easy change too. Pull it out, remove it from the wires, put in new fuse and see if you can get 12v between the two wires.

Check to see if there is something inside the outlet itself. Ive seen many times where coins or other metal objects get stuck in there and short it out.

I had this issue. I think the suspect is the cargo light under the trunk lid portion. I noticed when installing my aftermarket tails that the wire rubs on metal with no wrap or conduit. It wears down enough to hit metal and pops fuse that also controls rear entertainment system. That fuse box is located in the trunk on left side of quarter panel. On my 600 it was anyway. I wrapped wire with electrical tape and fixed it
