Exclamation 2013+ Android Screen Mirroring - Definitive Solution?

Good morning everyone,

As I recently picked up a 2013 LS460 with the Mark Levinson system, I'm seeing conflicted information on the web about modifications to the infotainment system.

I would like to understand if "Screen Mirroring" is available with Android via any of the after-market units (VAIS Technology, Prestigious Society, etc).

Android in general has several different options for Screen Mirroring, which work reasonably well in general ("Miracast", "Chromecast", and "Sony MirrorLink" all jump to mind nowadays... back in the early CarPC days we'd use "VNC Server").

The idea would be to use the 2013+ infotainment system to "control" an Android device, preferably using the car's built-in "mouse pointer"...

...but if that's too much of a stretch, then just plain screen mirroring would still be great (where you'd still have to touch the physical phone to navigate).

If anyone can please chime in with definitive Android Screen Mirroring information on the 2013+ LS, I would definitely appreciate it .

(Perhaps representatives from the vendors on the forum?)

Again, my apologies if this has been discussed in detail in the past, I'm just seeing contradicting information out on the web for the 2013+ models.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Default 2013+ Android Screen Mirroring - Definitive Solution?

If there is a VAIS Technologies IVIC offering for the 2013 then I know you can use Chromecast with it like I did on my old 2008 LS600

The idea about Chromecast is quite interesting.

I found this video about this concept, trying to learn more about it...

If anyone has any input on this topic, please chime in, thank you!

Thanks for the follow up, CKITTY.

It looks like this is the thread I need to look at:

It sounds like my 2013 LS has the "fifth generation HDD-based Lexus navigation system", if I am not mistaking.
