Default Car rarity

Ever since I got my car, which was just a few weeks ago, I've been on the lookout for other 4th gen LS'.

I have only seen one during my time driving, and NOT ONE refresh LS. Granted I live in Sacramento, but it's still a large city.

Even before I got it, I would rarely see them at all and I can honestly only remember seeing ONE refresh LS 460 over the past year.

Now I have no idea what the sales volume is, but I can't imagine it being high.

Personally, I love it that I never or rarely see other LS'!

Mercedes, BMW, Audis are a dime a dozen around here. Heck, even the newer GS are kind of rare, although I see the RX and ES everywhere!

What's it like in your area? You also enjoy the fact that it's kind of rare, relatively speaking?

Funny, I bought my LS from a guy in Sacramento.

They're all over the place in Seattle. Everywhere. Both pre- and post-refresh. Not exclusive at all.

I'm from Quebec, Canada and yes LS are so rare that people don't even know the car. Rarety does make me want it, actually, i was browsing for one for 2 years not finding the right options groups or color combo.

I live in Denver colorado and I see 4th gen LS maybe 1-2 a month. We have 3 lexus dealerships in the metro area, and the lexus brand is in high volume, but the LS is quite limited.

Yeah I think there's two in Sacramento.

The 4th gen LS is just rare here I guess.

Anyone know the per year sales volume for this gen since its inception?

Google it and go to the Wikipedia site. 10,000 sales in US is close. But continue to fall as model gets older, the. Boosts during a refresh.

Tons of them here in NYC
Actually, last weekend I was driving on the highway and in front of me was a 10-12 model, I was telling my wife if she can spot the difference between our car or not. Yellow blinker lights. Well she did not. Out of nowhere a silver 07-09 like mine pulls up and I have a clear chance to point out the difference to her as both of the cars are in from of us. She finally got it, we both agreed that 07-09 design is superior and that was that.
After that, I put the pedal to the metal and left those two turkeys in the dust.

Fin.

Greater Vancouver area here. VERY rare to see an LS. In the two years I've owned mine, I've seen only a handful. Lots of GS's and ES' and MANY SUV's.

I was thinking the same thing. Here in Peachtree City, I see them occasionally. And that's a lot. PTC is not a big town.

There's a white one I see from time to time. I'm not a big white fan, but on the LS, it looks spectacular. I frequently see LS 430's and LS 400's. They both still look great to me. Although, some LS 400's are looking like hoopties, depending the owner. Some owners take great care of their 400's, and some look like they imported their 400 from Mogadishu.

Hi... they are rare as hens teeths here in Norway ... and the rest of Europe...also the LS 400 ...I bought my first LS (400) in 2002 and only saw one LS locally here ..and that was the only one I saw, even when travelling over most of Europe in 10 years untill I sold it ..driven it 100k miles... When I then bought my 2008 LS600hL in 2012, I have only seen one other LS untill now...and that one was a black LS460 outside a Lexus dealer in Germany last year...

EDIT: Not completely true... When I just had bought a sidecar outfit in Georgia in May 2000 for use on a tour through USA with the family that summer, I came over a local add that a american citizen, employer of an american Oilcompany should sell his ( or wife's) 1990 LS400... (I have had an interess for Lexi's for a few months then because when a English Car program said in one episode.. Why buy a new car when You get all You will want from a used LS400...) I had then never seen one live and called the seller if I could please see the car..and told him that I just bought the sidecar outfit and did not have the money to buy it ...he said .. Your so welcome.... I went the few miles to his house..got a long talk and even a long testdrive ...and was hooked 100%..
I started in the autum/winter 2000/01 to look for one-owner , fullly equipt LS400 with low miles for sale all over Europe.... found my perfect 1993 LS 400 in March 2002 in Switzerland ..and the rest is history :-)

Not bad looking for a 19 year old car:
