Default Any luck with replacing armrests and dashes?

Hello Everyone,
I have been on the list of LS drivers who will have their interiors replaced under the extended warranty since March. I just keeping visiting the dealer and they keep singing the same song: "We are replacing them as they come in from the manufacturer. Please be more patient" My patience is wearing thin especially since I have considered trading it in and now I am seeing used cars on the dealers' lots with the replacement armrests.

Has anyone had any luck with the LS model? I live in central Florida and I can't stand the chipping, gouges, stickiness, and utter unsightliness of the interior.

Have you tried another dealer? That would be my first move.

So how do you spell "duh"? I guess the service department at this dealer has been so good to me that it never even occurred to me to try another dealer. Sometimes the answers are so obvious that we miss them. Thanks for the suggestion.

You can also contact Lexus corporate and express your concerns with them.

Because mine is an 08 they won't replace my arm rest which has a small crack. I'm probably gonna look for a repair kit or find someone versed in the repair.

I have an '07 and the dealership I work at flat out denies coverage since it is 'not in range'. Even though it is clearly exhibiting the same symptoms. Corporate contact has done nothing as well. I figure it will be less stress for me but slightly higher cost to have an interior custom made. At least it will be to my liking.

Sorry, i'm not aware...whats going on with the armrests? I'm aware of the dash recalls for some but wasn't aware of any arm rests.

I believe the armrest cover is leather, so it would not have the (sticky) problems of the dash and door panels.

not sure if they are giving you the runaround. i went in for the fuel sensor recall on november 18. they inspected my dash/doors and said i qualify for the replacement. they ordered it that day and it arrived within a month. i am scheduled to install them this tuesday. but this is for just the dash and doors. i didn't know they warranty the center armrest too...

The leather door armrests require Luxury Package on L models or Comfort Plus on SWB models. Without those packages they are soft-touch plastic and subject to the same failure as the dash in early build 2007 cars.

Ahh understood. Thank you. I guess I don't have those issues.

Ah, I was thinking of the center armrest. The door armrests are, indeed, vinyl.

I had the dash replaced a couple years ago and my drivers side front door panel replaced last year. I'm waiting on all the other door panels as well as center console, glove box door, and under the instrument cluster. My glove box door is sticky. I'm also thinking about trading for a new vehicle as well. I'm getting tired of looking at the panels and the sticky glove box door. Going to ask my dealer for some assistance on a new LS...
