Default 2013 LS 460 Quality

I'm looking into purchasing a 2013 LS 460. I've had three Lexus vehicles so far and had no problems with them at all. Is this what I can be expecting with an LS? Is it of the same quality as the other cars in the lineup?

Well.... With it being their flag ship model. I can tell you they cut no corners on design and build quality. I can say, the potentio all issues you will most likely see will be based off the condition of your purchase. Buying a 2013, I don't think should seee too many problems. Take your time and find a good one. Don't settle.

My 2015 is very high quality.

The LS is significantly better than other Lexus models in a number of areas. Quality and refinement are big ones.

Even though LS is better than other Lexus models quality is where it is trailing behind RX, GS, ES and CT statistically speaking.

Are you questioning how statistics work or reliability?

RX, ES, and Prius (Which is CT) have made top ten most reliable cars year after year.

The LS460 has also been named on the most reliable list and won best in class numerous years also.

I purchased a CPO 2013 LS with 7,700 miles. So far the Wind Noise is horrible, and now I am told there is no fix for what appears to be a Transmission Pump which whines at low speeds. Already replaced the Blind Spot Monitor System.

Should have kept my 2005 LS ran quieter and no issues.

Since 2007 LS reliability took a dive. It is still much better than European but the gap is smaller, saying that it is much better than other Lexus models simply not true.

I'm not saying reliability is much better, I'm saying overall quality is much better.

My 2015 has no wind noise. What sort of wind noise do you have reg?

To be specific, is the 2013 known to be more reliable than earlier models? Have they fixed the known issues?

If you look at consumer reports reliability data it seems to show that they have. Control arms were redesigned in 2011, a lot of the "common" LS460 issues were addressed after 2010.

Consumer Reports shows 2007-2009 models as having some issues and 2010+ models as being excellent with very few issues.

Long Term Quality Index shows the LS as one of the most reliable vehicles in production, beating most Toyota and Lexus models with the exception of the LX, Land Cruiser, GX, and GS. That includes both 430s and 460s, though.

Interesting database for entertainment purposes only.
According to their database LS has best reliability score BUT they lump data from 1995 - 2010 and report average. Drill down to LS by year and you will see that 2008 has more issues than 1998, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007.
And 2009 has more issues than any other LS from 1998-2008.

And we're discussing 2013+ years, which as someone stated earlier have seemed to significantly improve.
