Exclamation How many keys does an LS have?

Hi,

I'm shopping for a used 2013+ LS, and I would like to understand how many keys the car is supposed to have.

I understand, at minimum, there are supposed to be two "master" keys (the big ones), but how many other keys are there?

Is there a "wallet key", or a "valet key"?

Thank you!

When I purchased my 2013 460 they gave me two of the big key fobs. I think I remember hearing something about the 600s coming with the card but not 100% sure on that.

The 600hl comes with the wallet card, but you can order them and have them programmed. I have one for my 2007. Best thing ever. My house has a keypad lock, so I never carry any keys. As long as I have my wallet thats all I need.

I appreciate the responses.

It sounds like two big keys is all the car should come with, by default. Thank you.

The wallet card won't work on an F-sport model. I tried to get one for my 2013 F sport and the dealer said it's not available for mine.

I don't think the dealer is correct here. Most dealers have never dealt with this key, and since the car doesn't come with one from the factory, they think it can't be done. I had to print out instructions for programming to show them how to do it.

For some reason he's right, the wallet key won't work on the F Sport. Its not just the LS. I was skeptical too, but its been proven on the forum.

My brand new 2015 came with two smart keys.

So you can get a key card for a 2007 LS460? That sounds like just what I need!

Can anyone tell me approximately what this would cost?

Unfortunately my car only came with one key. I don't understand how people can be so careless to not make sure things like this get transferred whenever they sell a car. My car was a one owner but it didn't come with any manuals or anything; interior was empty other than a key with leather sleeve. At least the trunk was still full though, spare tire looks like it's never been touched and I still have all the tools that are placed around it, along with the first aid kit, trunk nets, etc.

Bzzt. My 2011 LS460 Sport has 3, 2 fobs with leather gloves and a key card. The key card is neat as a low-profile pocketable device but it has no buttons on it.

I got lucky and paid $99 on eBay for a used one. But that was about half the usual price they go for. Then I think I paid $69 for programming it but I don't remember.

That's weird that F sports can't use the key. Odd

Mine neither, but that's the whole idea. It's a proximity device. Everything operates on the car without need for keys or buttons. There is however, a key in the card
