2007 LS460. On a couple of occasions recently, my transmission would not come out of park. I shut the engine down and restarted and it worked fine. Is this a sign of bad things to come? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,
Harry

You probably know this, but just in case: Be sure you depress and hold the brake pedal firmly when you attempt to move the shift lever from the PARK detent.

Its been a few days and no more locked transmission. Thought I would get back to the group to report

I'm thinking the 2 times this happened, my foot was not on the brake. I have been conscious of this lately and it has not happened again. Thanks for the replies. All is good!

Thanks for getting back to us. Too often people come to report a problem, are given solutions or ideas, and then not report back, leaving members wondering.

Let us know if it happens again.

^^^ THIS!
Like the gentleman who locked himself out of his car while it was running...
jmcraney had some really significant information pertaining to what the issue may be, and what made it more interesting is that the OP in that thread stated that the dealership said that what had occurred to him was impossible.
I, for one, would like to know what happened there.
