Default Door Edge Guards..... Review

I purchased a set of "genuine" Lexus door edge guards for my LS and I am very disappointed with the quality of these guards. I prepped the edge of the doors (removed the wax) and took my time installing the guards on the doors and although they do look nice I really do not think they will last on the car due to the fact that they are very thin and rely on a "press on fit" with no adhesive. These were pricey and I thought they would have had Lexus quality, but I was wrong. I do not take my cars through a commercial car wash but if you take your car to a car wash I can see these guards popping off so I suggest avoiding them because they will not last long.
The only positive thing that I can say about these door edge guards are that they do look nice (for now) and the color match (silver) is exact.
My review is ........ Save your money.

My dealer thought they were doing me a favor and installed a set for free.My first service I asked my service adviser to have the guards removed.
He called me and said taking them off may leave some scratches because they are sort of crimped on and tight. So I kept them.
I tried pulling one off a bit and it didn't budge. These guards are on tight and I doubt they'll come off at a car wash.
I have silver and the color match is great.

Two of my door guards fell off of the rear doors but the two guards on the front doors are still on and holding up well.

The original owner had these installed on my car (I purchased off a lease) so they have been on for 3 years. They still look perfect.

after they feel off, did you see any sign of damage to the door edge from the initial installation?

I used 3M door edge guard 2 years back: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Of four doors, one passenger side edge is peeling. Could be an install issue, otherwise happy with it.

No damage to the edges.
My son just had "clear" door edge tape installed on his Nissan Maxima when he had the windows tinted and it looks great.
