Default I cant find PCS enable/disable button-

New owner of previously owned 2008 LS600hL and it has the recurring "PCS not available now" dinging message and i want to disable it for now. Upon researching it i found that it should be under the steering wheel presumably next to the TPMS reset button but I am not seeing it. The location I was expecting it to be (to the left of the TPMS reset) actually has two wires going into what looks like a blank plastic cover plate but no button. I will try to post a picture shortly.

My question is this: Is this the correct location for the PCS enable/disable switch or am I looking in the wrong area?

Thanks in advance

Jason

Is PCS off? There's a page in the manual on enabling/disabling PCS.

It could be off or not functioning properly but I can't find the button to verify. That thread is what lead me to look under the steering wheel but I don't see it anywhere. I can't find the "pre-crash" button shown in that thread

Default Pic from under steering wheel

Here's a pic from under my steering wheel. This is where I was expecting the pre crash on/off button to be. As you can see in the pic there is a plastic "blank" to the left of the TPMS set button. There are two wires going into the back of this "blank". Is this supposed to be the location of the pre-crash on/off button or am i looking in the wrong place?

08 LS600 without advanced PCS does not have a button under the steering wheel. I am afraid that your next strop is the dealer :-(

OK, thanks. That explains why I couldn't find it! I'm thinking that the ECU has an issue and needs a reset or replacement. I'm going to pull fuses to the ECU to see if a hard reset will clear the PCS error. If not, I'll bite the bullet and head to the dealer.

Cheers,
Jason

Just wanted to chime in for anyone who is looking for this answer. The button on the 2008 LS is much further under the steering wheel, almost above the gas pedal. Will try to put a pic here later.

Another thread using abbreviations and not including the full term in it anywhere.

The practice should be discouraged.

Such abbreviations need to be written in full at least once in the thread to make searching easier.

Either in the thread title, or in the body of the thread.

For new members like myself attempting to learn about these complex cars:

PCS = Pre Collision System.

Or Pre Crash System in the UK.
