Default Door light sensor......and actuator

All of a sudden, my door footlight on driver side door does not go on when I open the door. Also, the door actuator that's supposed to suck the door closed does not work either. Could it be a bad sensor on the door jam that tells when the door is open and when it's closed?

The foot-light not coming on when you open the door is a strong indication that the doorjamb switch is defective. The most common failure mode is for the switch to not sense when the door opens and that may cause your battery to be discharged by the headlights not being extinguished by the auto-off feature. Several other safety systems are also compromised by this failure.

There are some good details about this in this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...rning-off.html

I am not sure if the door "soft close" feature is affected by this. Please let us known.

I removed the original striker sensor on the door jam and wiggled and played with it works sometimes. I ordered a new one since I couldn't figure if it's the connector/wire or the sensor itself. Yes, this also controls the actions of the soft close actuator.

I have a PAS Mag photoshoot in the morning but will pick up the new sensor afterwards.
