Default Fuel Delivery Pipe Recall Ready?

I received a notice from Lexus about this back in December but have heard nothing since. The notice said there is a problem but they weren't ready to fix yet yet blah blah blah. What's happening with this?

Go to page 2 half way down: Recall Alert Fuel Lines . There are 134 postings on what is happening. I had mine done last Friday in Omaha, NE.

Since this is a very large recall (over 400,000 vehicles) notification is probably being done in phases so as not to overwhelm the logistics system and your letter is yet to come.

All vehicles are not affected so you should verify that your vehicle is in the recall by checking the VIN on the Toyota site or the SaferCar.gov site.

The sample recall letter is available here: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs...4V647-3280.pdf

I never did get a letter. I verified the VIN on the Toyota site and called up Lexus of Omaha to make an appointment. We were driving up to Nebraska last week and they said bring it in on Friday. I tied the 40K service in with the recall. Dropped the car off at 11 AM and picked it at 5 PM all nice and clean.

I think some of the letters have not been sent yet, because of the necessity for phasing. If the dealer has the tools, parts, and trained technician available they will probably gladly do it anytime if your car is on the recall list. You may not receive a letter if you have the recall work done before your letter is sent.

I took my 2008 ls460 in last week for service and they did the recall procedure at that time.

Said they had to replace a gasket that might leak.

I called my Lexus dealer and asked them why I wasn't notified...they said it's because they have to order the parts per the individual, which made no sense to me. So they took my information, ordered the parts, then called me to set up an appointment. They said the job will take three hours - I then asked, what am I going to do, just sit there for three hours? It wasn't until I said that, did they mention they could give me a rental vehicle for the day.

I've been bitc*ing about this since December. I called....no dice...I entered my VIN....no dice.....I still have no idea what the heck is going on, other than perhaps Canada is in the back seat until the majority of vehicles are done across the line from us. I will soon call corporate and ask for a sit rep.

In Canada here too, same boat. Talked to the dealer about it twice and he denied that recall even existed. Asked me to bring the letter for my next appointment.

You have to be proactive and call for appointment. I did and got it done last week. Even got a loaner for the day and beat the heck out of it too.

Canadian cars (even though its manufactured from the same plant) are not affected. That is the same reason why you need to flush your transmission fluids while we US-based owners don't

kidding of course..

My proactivity has never been an issue, I not only called them, I attended a Lexus dealer in a nearby town. Again, no joy.

Kidding about the trans fluid or the recall (or both)?
