Has anyone got one of these iPhone Bluetooth stereo integration kits and does it work well ?

I have an iPhone 5S using the IVIC. Mine is jailbroken. I run in the HDMI mode and listen to Audible, Pandora via the iphone apps., play music videos and with a blue tooth mouse app (cydia app) and a landscpe mode app I can select any app without looking at the iPhone ( I do have to look at the screen). The sound is great. I can run the google maps with the satellite overlay and recieve real time traffic with up to date maps. Activating the accessibility under the Settings-General on the iphone allow you to retun to the home screen from the mouse curser without using the home button.
I also switch back to the app mode to access the phone contacts and the map app there or use the IVIC installed Pandora app. Is it worth the investment, it was for mt as I have a 2007 with only an aux jack. Now I keep my phone charged, listen to my music all via the lightning cable. The phone still works thru the car bluetooth and since I had a old android phone I was able to transfer all my iphone contacts to the car (synced them both with google contacts). So, yes I am very happy and hopefully Vaistech will update the firmware with the apple CarPlay when Apple allows.

 

Travisbjr, which Cydia apps are you using for landscape and bluetooth mouse? I have the same phone jailbroken but the apps don't work with iOS 7. Maybe something new has come out?

Also, do you have glitch issues with the ivic unit such as lines on the screen when you switch to other modes, or blue screen coming up on screen for a split second or 2?

Sarantis I am using BTstack Mouse and SBRotator 7 (for landscape) from Cydia. I have gotten the blue screen if I unplug the phone before I shut off the car but only once or twice. And yes to the lines but again not always. I am not sure if these are IVIC or phone problems on the display out software. I do not have any problems in the app mode. I have only seen those in the HDMI mode (mirroring). It #%?!%# me off that GARMIN will not allow mirroring with the NAVIGON app and the fix doesn't work in IOS 7 for the display out. But I am still very happy with the IVIC module.

 

exactly which IVIC module are you guys using? I have a 2007 as well and want to pull the trigger on this soon. But when I read the original post in the audio section of the forum, I thought I'd read that the android IVIC was needed to be able to mirror. Maybe something has changed. Either way, which one is being used for your installs? I have an Iphone 5s as well. Thanks.

 

Check the vaistech site. iPhone uses the IVIC-5i. I have a jailbroken iPhone and the mirroring works fine. I believe it also works just as well with a non jailbroken 5s. The sound is much better than the aux jack.

 

I have the 5s not jail broken and it mirror the phone in the hdmi mode.

 

Are you saying this WILL mirror a 5S?

 

with ivic-i, you do NOT need jailbroken phones in order to do mirroring. you can just put the ivic-i in hdmi mode and it will work

I don't believe so. A few members have installed both, and I plan to as well.
