I have found that it really is not an issue. We have left the LS parked while we are in HI for 3 or 4 months without a problem. It always starts right up when we get home. I never found a way to shut them off short of unhooking the battery which I was not going to do for months on end.

Lucky for you that your LS starts right up after being parked for 3 or 4 months without a battery tender. Very unusual for new vehicles. What brand of battery do you have and is it one of the newer battery with reserved starting power? I've had mines parked for 3 or 4 weeks and I could definitely tell my battery was weaker but it started. I had the battery (less than 18 months old) tested and it was good and charging.

There's no point in turning them off, unless you simply don't like the idea of red lights flashing when your not even around to see them.

I just have the stock Lexus Battery. When the original one went south on 11/24/12 Lexus of Miami where the LS was leased from put in a new 84 month Lexus Model L00544-MF240-575 Battery That one went south on 3/16/16 and Reliable Lexus of Springfield, MO gave me credit for $58.22 of warranty and I paid $67.71 for another 84 month Model L00544-MF240-575 Lexus Battery which I think is made by Interstate Battery.

Thanks ( DJWLDW) for the info because my '10 LS had a Lexus battery that fail and I replaced it with another Lexus factory battery. It lasted about 3 yrs and failed. I purchased my current battery at NAPA.
