How does that even happen? If you don't have a uv blocking tint on your front windshield, you should do that. It will keep car cooler, doesn't look obvious it's tinted and cuts glare down while protecting from sun

Looks like the previous owner let the car bake in the sun for long periods of time with no dash protection and caused it to dry out, crack and split. Your best bet is find the best upholstery shop in town and let them repair it for you.

just based on the pics, i'm assuming you have an LS600 full leather dash - you could try and go to an automotive upholstery shop to see if they can fix that

The leather on the 600 wont do this... the 460 will and other toyota's an lexus' 07 era have a foam laminated dash its molded to look like leather.. but its a foam composite with a vinyl like coating..that literally melts over time an long exposure to heat or direct sunlight. .the fix will be expensive. . (An effective in small non obvious locations..but that dash may require a full leather/vinyl wrap.. or a replacement. ..

If you look closely at the 2nd pic you can see the yellow foam under the vinyl coating. .

wow, ive seen a few of these 460's doing this now.

To me, it almost looks like the previous owner re-dyed the dash and now its peeling.

I would bit the bullet and have the dash removed and re-wrapped in leather or suede.

No point in fixing it if its only going to happen again.
