Default Headlight replacement

Friends, its been forever, but I have a new question for you all. We have a 2007 LS460 that we absolutely love; however, there the passenger side xenon headlight is out. Since the car is out of warranty the dealership said its most likely the headlight and hopefully not the relay. I was quoted $200 for the light (sans labor) which seems like a hefty price.

I'm finding these on eBay for 1/6 the price, but are these decent?

I would stick with Philips brands as it is the OEM. I just replaced one of my headlight bulbs since only the driver's side is out. it's 4300K OEM replacement...Color matched perfectly. It's a lil' PITA to replace the bulb since you have to remove the tire, bend the well liner back, etc....not an easy job. So I would stick with the well-known brand for reliability and long lasting performance.

If you register on Sewell Lexus Parts its cheaper as a CL member for the bulb.....

Wow u removed the whole wheel? Why? If u turn the wheel all the way an power the car off.. u can access the light service panel.. could u imagine a service tech lifting the entire car pulling off a wheel to swap a bulb???

Yeah once you turn your wheels towards the inside pop the fender liner out and there's the light access.

Ok....that's what I've been doing. I just replaced my set with some 5k units from Ebay for 29.99 with free delivery. LOL. Might only last for a year but at that price for 5k bulbs....I'll take my chances.

I replaced mine with the morimoto brand hid bulbs from theretrofitsource.com There are a lot of good reviews of the bulbs on hidplanet.com. I've had mine for a year now with great results.
As for the above poster. I know our headlights cannot be baked to be opened due to the type of glue used to seal the headlights. If you do attempt the project please post a how to.

++++1 theRetroFitSource.com is good to go. You can simply get their Morimoto D4S replacement, it will come with warranty as well. Or you can get their authentic Osram D2S Cbi that are the brightest HID bulb out there right now. (D2S will require modification to properly fit D4S application)

I will be attempting the bake of the headlight to swap out factory frosted lens to retrofit source clear lens.

I think it's going to take more than a heat gun or oven to open our headlights. Our headlights have the perma seal. Google perma seal + hidplanet for ways to open up perma seal headlights. If you do tackle this could you please take lots of pics and post a how to. I'd really like to do this to my headlights.

are you sure LS460s are perma-sealed? I asked retrofitsource directly about LS460 assemblies, they say bake will do. I guess we will see when I attempt it.
