High Mounted Stop Lamp Removal
So I am unfortunate being probably the first one here with a blown LED on a 2007 LS460.
Bought a set of the Stop Lamp on my recent trip to Japan and started to embark on my little DIY today.
Both side covers are held on by a little plastic hook underneath near the row of LED bulbs. Hence, you will have to press down firmly to unhook and slide the cover towards you and lift it up to remove. (watch my youtube link below).
The center piece is held on by 2 screws (nearer to the row of LEDs) and 2 plastic clips (nearer to the C-pillars). Remove the 2 thumb screws and the plastic clips (twist or turn them 90 degrees and they should come off easily). At this point, remember to unhook the plastic connector.
Replace the center Stop Lamp piece and install everything in reverse order.

As promised, check youtube video on how to remove the side covers.
Cheers.

This is an original part, no reason why anyone would want to replace it unless it is broken or had a blown bulb.
Should cost somewhere between 350-400 bucks from your local supplier.
And you are right CJITTY, there are 24 LED bulbs in the stop lamp, and all it takes is only 1 faulty bulb and you are staring at a 400 bucks job.
Wish I was less **** about how things are falling apart in this car.

Hello, I see your post with directions on how to change the third brake light on a Lexus Ls460. I have a 2011 Lexus Ls460 and my light has given out. I would like to know if you still have the you tube video that shows how you changed the light. When I click on the link, it says that it is a private video. I know that this was posted a few years ago but I am hoping that you or someone has a video on how to change this light. I have looked all over for a video showing how to change this with no luck.

Good morning Vvman. Do you by chance still have a copy of this video to show you how to change the High Mounted Stop Light for a Lexus Ls460 2011? I am unable to access your youtube link as it notes that it is a private video.
