Ok, now i'm confused. I think i might be in the middle of two different requests.

All i was interested in was the rubber seals/gaskets around the window. . .

No, it's me that got the two requests mixed up! You are correct, those are the rubber door tracks for the window glass.

From what I can tell online (www.lexussouthatlantaparts.com), the part numbers for the front door glass runs are the same for all 2007 -2013 LS460's. I don't know if that means that the part has never been re-designed to correct wind noise issues and the same part has been used since 2007, or if it means that the part was redesigned and the newer part fits all years.

Who knows. Sewell list 2 part numbers for each side, one with a 5.0 next to it (mm?) for ~$350 and one with a 5.1 next to it for ~$450. I'm thinking the 5.1 might be the laminated glass because these windows are about 5mm thick and 0.1mm might be the thickness of a laminate layer.

Default Stage One - old parts removed

I pulled the parts off with ease as illustrated. Remember the steering wheel here is on the RIGHT HAND SIDE of the car. Photos attached which show the very poor adhesion both sides but particularly bad on the right hand, or driver's side door, hence the very annoying whistling and vortex running up the A pillar. Cheers Gordon

Here's the pics.

Result.

At least a 50% reduction in wind noise overall. A substantial lessening in the effect of crosswind gusts.

An almost total reduction in the "apparent" noise to halfway up the A pillar previously caused, I think, by a vortex generated at the gap at the top of the original piece.

The pitch of the wind noise has dropped because I think, again, small gaps that caused a high pitched whistle have been eliminated and the only noise is wind rush between the cover piece and the mirror itself.

Speaking of which, my friends' older GS450h (see pic) has a completely different style of mirror installation and his car generates no wind noise at all around the mirrors or front windows.

The original pieces came off easily and this fix took 10 minutes per side.

Thanks for the update and pictures. Did you remove the factory double sided foam tape on the back of the new parts or leave it on? I see you didn't put caulk on the vertical aluminum trim piece?

UPDATE!

Finally some feedback on my "fix" I did the jmcraney fix and installed the stabilizing fins on top of that! I snapped the guide pieces off the back, and kept the foam on the new piece intact.

Overall, %50 reduction as ATCMIL1 mentioned. This car will not be as silent as my old LS430 as it simply is such a huge departure in styling from the 1, 2, & 3LS and didn't have $1billion dollars worth of wind tunnel studies done to it.

I'm happy with what I have, and it's not so loud that I have to apologize to guests who ride in my car.

Cheers!

Thanks for the update. I am going to order some of the new ones for my 07 as I think the sealant is no good. It was done by the previous owner who I suspect had the dealership do it. Either way I think I would feel better doing it myself so I know what is under there. I just have to figure out how to get the old sealant off without destroying the car or sitting there for 3 days scraping it off.

The old sealant should come off fine.

One thing to remember is that although I did the jmcraney fix with the sealant, I used 2-part epoxy on the stabilizing fins in addition to the foam block and stickers it already had on it.

I did the jmcraney fix and put in the new fins. No difference. Zilch, zero, nada. Oh well, the noise is not too bad I guess.

In my opinion, the fix decreases the wind noise about 7-10 dB or so depending on speed. It only affects straight-line noise and not the crosswind noise.

I'm still going strong with my fix, in fact the only reason why im posting is because I feel that the fix has actually gotten better over time. I think the adhesion with the warmer weather or the wind it's self has added pressure to the trim pieces to make it have solid contact.
I'm very pleased.

close your window all the way up and then tap the window switch down real quick just to make it go down a tiny bit and almost all wind noise goes away. i dunno why but it works for me. worth a shot for all the other ls owners

Default Fins work

They just work brilliantly ... Don't need all the extra goop behind to stick them on , just use the strips provided and they work perfectly
