I have a thought brought to my mind after seeing how costly are the air components , and I wish if we can open a helpful discussion here , my thought is regarding the air suspension , I have 2010 LS460 AWD with air , I was thinking and comparing between driving modes ( comfort , normal and sport ) which one of them will be less consuming the struts and last for more , and which of them will bring air suspension system's failure more faster .

my opinion here is that the sport mode could be the one , what do you think gentlemen ?

 

I don't think either will cause them to fail faster all the mode dose is change the dampening (feel) from firm to soft. Some people leve it in one of the three and done with it, also some say they can't reallymfeel the difference when in use to even bother.

 

I used to have OEM air before swapping for after market air, I can tell the difference between Comfort, Normal or Sport. I agree with Tee that the three doesn't affect the life of the suspension. It's when you start lowering or installing a Data Controller and drive low, that will affect the life of your suspension.

 

I dont think the data controller has anything to do with failures by itself. Plenty of non modding LS owners have had all 4 corners replaced well under 50k miles. Sure..driving slammed with the controller wont preserve them but the car is designed to at least ride on level 3 by design when over 60mph as the oem system automatically lowers the car for aerodynamic and stability enhancement.
