i believe that you would have to do mayor wiring and also change out the speakers becausethe ML package has bigger and better speakers.. I think it would be just best to go get a custom installed stereo with better speakers and a head unit along with a kick *** JL AUDIO amp so you can pretty much melt the crap out of he ML units out there.

i am not even sure why anyone would want the ML system when they amplifier goes out often. I mean, if i was going to upgrade my sound, i would go after companies that have been focused on cars stereos for years like jl audio, kicker, clarion, pioneer elite, etc. NO MARTIN LOGAN stock amplifier could touch a JL AUDIO amp.

ML on the 2010+ units is not very good. Don't waste your money on it. Aftermarket will give you much better sound. Lexus tweaked the system and it now cuts bass as you turn up the volume.

I had the same problem when I bought my LS460 2007. I got a great price for the car but it did not have the ML system. I researched all systems to put in my LS. I was quoted around $3500 for focal speakers with PDX-5 amp. This is a great unit with great speakers. But I purchased my unit for half of that price. Put eight aftermarket speakers with the Alpine PDX-5 amp and it sounds wonderful. I can crank up the volume and it is hard to believe how good it sounds. Do your homework. There are a lot of great speakers to choose from but buy a good amp. OK speakers and a great amp is hard to beat. Do not try to put the ML system in your car. I could be done but for a whole lot of green. Aftermarket is better.

Sorry I am dummmy, but, do you just need the amp and speakers to upgrade? I have the factory unit in my 2007. If you put in an amp, you use the same existing unit in the car for am/fm, cd ?

I had my audio shop put the speakers and the amp in connected to my factory unit. It was not a problem. I wanted everything to look factory but the sound is surely not factory.

Thumbs up Non ml can be upgraded...here is the info

The ML system and non ML both use the DSP(digital signal processor) to simulate high quality sound with cheap speakers. They only send certain
frequencies to certain speakers creating a surround sound effect. To upgrade, you must 1) upgrade the speakers 2) put in a summing device or line out converter(kicker zxsum8 as an example) which reassembles the sound into full range signals and then 3) run it though an amp(I used the Rockford fosgate 5 channel amp). This will produce full range sound from all speakers. Don't forget to upgrade your subwoofer and send at least 200w of power to it for a nice thumping effect..more if needed...

You're way off-base on this. Please refer to the other thread where we responded to this identical post you made.
