Man I've been holding off buying an ls 460 for two years because it seemed every one that has one was overly satisfied with the stock ML system I've test driven about 4 different cars and although the mids and highs are excellent for a oem system the sub bass always ran out of steam around vol # 35. My first mind was to try and tackle the sub bass on my own, but paying 50 grand + and being disappointed every time I drove it wasn't an option either. I'm glad that 6 years in its production, low end fans have purchased these vehicles and are modifying them because to there ears also something is missing in the music. Can't wait to see the finished product!

no matter what car you get an upgrade to the sound system will always be better.

ok so here's an update.. the first enclosure w/the (3) 10's sounded great.. but i guess i under estimated my need for bass.. i wound up blowing 2 of them during tuning.. sound quality was great but after having a competition spl system.. you want the best of both.. an i think i found it..

in an effort to maintain trunk room i molded the rear of the enclosure to the seat back.. here are some pics

That looks awesome^^^ I'm still very interested in this! What are going to be the differences between this setup vs the triple 10"s?

i lose 5 more inches of trunk room for easily 3 times the output... only disadvantage to shallow woofers is the lack of excursion (because of the shallow mounting the cone cant travel as far as a normal woofer which becomes a problem on super low bass notes) its fine at medium volume level but when u crank it....... poof...

That is so awesome!! What do you think of sound proof material in the trunk? Dynomat, rubber spray etc... Or are our cars already pretty solid?

Nice setup! Are you porting the sub box into the cabin area or just keeping it sealed? I have my custom enclosure ported thru the rear center armrest and to me it is much cleaner bass and zero trunk rattle.

Another great build. I just have a couple questions.
Have any pics of the finished product with the 3 10s?
How much to make something similar to the one youre doing now?

Im in the process of redoing my sub enclosure as well since this is the second L7 ive been thru.
