I'm new to the forums. I'm looking to buy my first LS460. I'm going to look at one today.
2008 LS460
41,xxxx miles
Silver with grey interior, chrome stock wheels
Fully loaded, Nav, ML stereo, auto park feature.
Carfax shows 1 owner, no accidents
Certified pre-owned.
List price is $39,990
I know it's a decent price, but since today is 12/31 do you guys think I can get it lower, and if so how much should I look to offer? I will be financing with Lexus. This is a pretty big Lexus dealership.
You could go to Lexus.com and click on owners resources upper right then go to my lexus and register with the EIN of the vehicle and find out the service history of the vehicle if it was generally performed at the lexus dealer. The price does sound good but it wouldm't hurt to try and squeeze another 3 grand out of them with it being the last day of the year. If they resist, maybe they would meet you half way. Make sure the valve spring recall was performed.
I registered, and this is the only thing I found:25162 1642632 ALE REPL COMP SPRINGS & LASH ADJUSTERS FOR GS460,
I'm assuming they meant LS460. Is that the recall?

Sorry about the VIN vs EIN. Glad you were able to research car history. Hope to see some pics real soon confirming your purchase. May be a really good deal with it being a CPO.
I believe you have been offered a GOOD price for this vehicle, considering model year, mileage, and options. You MIGHT want to consider an "Extended Factory Warranty" for another 2 to 3 years, AFTER the CPO 3-year warranty expires. It all depends of how many miles you plan on driving each of the first 3 years of your ownership, and how long you plan on keeping the LS460. This "Ext'd Factory Warr" can only be purchased when/at the same time you purchase the CPO vehicle.
Good luck and please come back and tell us how you did ! It sounds like a Wonderful way to bergin 2012 ! -
Well, they would not budge on the price at all. They said they are actually loosing about $600 on the deal at $39,980+TTL. It was about 530pm and they closed at 6pm. Dunno, they say it's the best deal out there now. The thing is its had 2 owners. I'm thinking money has been made on both trade ins. Am I unreasonable or a better deal can be found and just keep looking? The car is clean, no denying.

If you are going to keep the car for sometime, and you think you might want the comfort of knowing some very expensive parts (and labor) would be covered through a total of 8 or 9 years of ownership, see what they might do on more warranty.
Otherwise, and this is my BEST advice to you .... Don't "rush" on this deal and tomorrow do a search of AutoTrader for CPO cars,. Set the search criteria for mileage (LOW to high). You might be VERY surprised what you'll find ...IF you're willing to "go" after a car. I did (JM Lexus, Margate, FL - World's largest Lexus dealer!) - And we could not be more pleased with my (at that time) 26,000 mile 2008 LS460, in the color I wanted, and the dealer installed brand new Michelin Primacy MXM4's and all new floor mats, inside the car as well as the trunk. Ya got some time to yourself tomorrow ....... Try this. You might be pleasantly surprised !
Good Luck - Mikey Lulejian- Lake Oconee, GA
