Default 2nd Actuator?

I had my actuator replaced about 7 months/13,000 miles ago and it has started that clicking noise again from the drivers side dash area. Has anyone else experienced this problem? SCREAM.

Yes I have the same problem. I had my replaced about 9 months /10K miles ago, and just started hearing the "clicking" noise again. It is not as loud as it use to be, but I'm sure it will get louder over time. I took it to the dealer, and they could not duplicate the noise. I'm waiting for it to get worse and then bring it back to see what they plan on doing.

I can't find the brake actuator as an exclusion so it should be covered under the basic or extended warranty.

Mine was covered under warranty, and I'm hoping having it done the second time will be the same. My concern is that they might consider it as a "maintance" item rather than a defective part.

Our brake actuator failed at 60k miles - it cost us $500 at the dealer to replace it.

Lexus should step up and admit they have a serious problem with their braking system. When this part failed my wife could not stop the car by stepping on the brake. She was lucky that she was only going 5mph when this happened.

It should be covered until the 12 month unlimited mileage warranty once the part has been replaced. It appears you should be ok.
Mine started the clicking, took to the dealer, noise is more evident with the AC off.

Your wife and I share the same experience. I have a coated garage floor that has traction sand in it. I was pulling to the garage and the pedal went to the floor and the trac light came on, and I ran into the wall at a low speed. There is nothing worse than KNOWING you were not at fault. "No problem found".
I was pulling into the driveway in the snow when the same problem happened again then I realized that the right rear wheel was not getting any braking power which is what caused the symptom before. Turned out it was a bad actuator after all.
Let me know if you were able to get it warranted. I have a certified car that I have put nearly 50K on within 21 months. 64K on it now.

Do you know the replaced part name/number?

I need to replace it on my own but not sure what part I should order.

I had one replaced under warranty at 22,000 miles and it just went out again at 43,000 miles. This time it was replaced at no cost as a "customer relations" effort. I was told that it was a $5000 part. I plan to write Lexus USA about the issue. So far I feel that I've been treated fairly, but I don't want to have to replace this again at my expense when it's clear that there is a systemic problem with this part or assembly.

this is the first I've read about this issue, sounds like this is even more reason for me to upgrade to a big brake kit

it's not part of the calipers or rotors -- it's the big aluminum block in the engine bay under the engine cover on the right side which actually does the braking. it looks like an abs block on any other modern car.

(it's also the piece that caused me so much headache last month -___-)

its outrageous that lexus allows this problem to continue on nearly $100k cars and it gets worse the longer the miles you drive and the further you get out of warranty . i am on mark II. Mark III is quoted at $3575 plus tax with labor. Lexus should give all its premium customers a break on this part. Without the break its just one more reason to look at he S class \
This is so un lexus like. Saving bucks to lose customers down the line
Most premium customers if you told them $1k they would shrug shoulders say ok and lexus lose a little but the LS brand stands strong
