whats up guys, recently on occasion ive noticed a slight rattling noise when i start my car. I did a search and saw it was somewhat common on 06 and 07 models and I guess there is a TSB for it. Unfortunately my car is out of warranty even tho I have only 45k miles on it. My question is, has anyone has this fixed under warranty?? It looks like its a 6hr job so if its not covered its going to be very expensive fix!

 

powertrain warranty is 6 years, 70000 miles.

rattle noise at bottom right part when starting is like engine knock like what I have right now they are replacing cams and have to remove engine

 

it is? I thought tsb were not covered if the car was out of warranty. Mine is very subtle, not sure where its coming from but somewhere in the engine bay and it doesnt happen every time. From what Ive read on here, its something to do with the cams.

 

the bottom of every tsb tells you which warranty covers it.
some are bumper-bumper.
some are powertrain.

 

I just had this noise problem fixed under the 6 year powertrain warranty they had my car for 2 days but that was also to fix my brakes they were squeaking i had to pay for those myself.

I have this rattle when it is cold out. I had the car at the dealer for three days and couldn't reproduce it. The lead mechanic told me it is common but not to worry about it until it is very loud, as he said: "shockingly loud". Luckily it will be covered under my aftermarket warranty.
