Smile dipstick question

I'm not sure if this topic ever came up but i have a silly question for you guys...Why does the LS460 RWD have an oil level dipstick in a different spot than the LS460 AWD ? Everything else in the engine compartment appears to be the same except for that one feature.

I don't think it is a silly question but I haven't viewed the engine of an AWD LS. However, I assume that since the AWD LS has a front drive shaft configuration, that there is some interference which necessitated re-positioning of the dipstick. That is a guess but sounds good to me.
