The thread is for Brembos and Akebono does not make ceramic pads for the LS Sport.

Can one swap out the LS rotor for the IS rotor with the cross drilled on? I figure its the same right? What pads to the IS F use compared to the LS?

unless it's a two piece rotor (separate hats and rotors), then I think the answer is no. Aren't the bolt patters different? 5x120 for LS and like 5x114.3 for the IS/GS/etc?

The 2012 Lexus Ls sport ( on the Lexus web site under detailed specifications) states drilled rotors front and back. My 2011 does not have drilled rotors. This might be one of the corrections they are making to solve this noise problem?

Interesting that the Detailed Specifications says "Brake Size (available)" for the drilled rotors, but does not show that as being part of the Sport package.

As aforementioned the bolt pattern is completely wrong to begin with, so no.

Drilled rotors have no affect on reducing noise. With todays brakes, slots and drilled holes are more for asthetics than anything. They used to be used for venting heat and cooling, but in reality they lend towards premature cracks and fracturing at times.

To quiet the brakes, it would have more to do with the compound of the pads and using good grease on the contact points where the pads mate against the calipers.

I wanted to put on slotted and drilled rotors but since I can't turn them if need be, I settled on oem fronts and raybestos rears

UPDATE- just spoke with my local Lexus dealer and they have a redesigned pad/shims to correct the noise issue with Brembo brakes on the LS 460 sport. Once installed I will advise if this corrects the problem.

Dealer installed the updated pad kit part # Dis O4465-OW151. So far no noise and alot less dust, Only time will tell. This was covered under warrenty as Lexus is very aware of this issue. Any LS 460 sport owner with the Brembo noise issue should contact you dealer for this fix. I will keep you advised.

John, question for you, were these updated pad kits just specifically for the front brakes or the rears as well?

hi john, on my 2011 ls460sport i don't have any problem with brake squeal just what i consider a huge problem with brake dust. you said the update reduced the dusting. is it enough to go thru the trouble of the update to reduce the dusting even tho i have no noise problem or might i be opening a can of worms. your honest opinion please. thanks.........bud

So far the dust seems to a lot less but I've only put about 100 miles on the pads since they were installed. I will let keep you advised. These replacement pads are for the front brakes only.

This stuff here works wonders..been using it for years! It really does work and brake dust rinses right offf with ease with a hose and of course with no effort in car washes. Not only that, it helps put a nice wax coat on wheels to help prevent corrosion, etc. It is well worth it!!
