Brake noise
Just took my car in for oil change this weekend and had them looked at the brakes. My car makes noises when you hold on the brakes and nudge it a bit. Dealer said this was normal sound when calipers are released. Any of you guys cars makes this noise? Another thing is that the brake pedal feels stiff and seems like I would have to put more pressure down to apply my brakes. My 2000 tundra's brakes are soft and makes no noises whatsoever. Such poor brakes for a luxury car.
I noticed a sound coming from the front of the car, metal brushing on metal. When I applied the brakes the noise stopped and did not return when I took my foot off the brakes. I suspect I have one of the front calipers that is not working quite right. Any ideas?
I had the dealer look at the brakes twice. I asked them to check the brake actuator too. Said no problems were found except warped rotors and noise that I'm hearing is normal. They said it's just the calipers releasing. I don't have noise when braking, it's only when i'm at a complete stop and the brakes are pressed completely or nudged a bit is when I hear the brake noise.
I feel your pain . I am still getting the is weird groaning noise when I hit the brakes really really hard. I am assuming its the slotted rotors. It seems like its getting better over time but its annoying. If its not gone in a few weeks I am going to junk the brakes and get a set of oem brakes. I am surprised that I am saying that. Oh well, just a $1000 down the tubes. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way
