Default Just bought 2008 LS460!!!

Just bought 2008 LS460 with 23k miles, paid 39.5k. Have a few questions though:

1) The engine is kind of making pinging noise, and yes I have been using higher grade fuel. Took it to the dealer and not sure why, they could not reproduce it. This happens after it warms up for a while and then when I stop and go or during uphill, I am able to reproduce it.

2) The car did not have the manual and hence was wondering if there is a online document or where I could buy the book

3) How do I program to open my garage door? I know this should be in the manual and I need this help immediately

It drives smooth, and enjoying. Got worried and took the extended warranty for 125k miles (platinum). Any help is deeply appreciated!!!

1) could that be the fuel injector noise? if so, normal

2) sign up account on lexus.com as owner, you can request manual free

Congrats on the new purchase! One of the best feelings is driving this vehicle around and knowing that its yours.. btw it doesnt fade much either, after a year I still feel the same passion for mine.

If you call Lexus, they should send you the manuals for free. 1-800-25-Lexus. Congratulations!

If Lexus won't provide one free, I found several on Ebay. May be less expensive than dealer.

O and yeah lexus is getting cheaper.... for ex. here locally at a high class mall they offered free valet for a year or two and a few valet locations but recently they cut out that deal.... they also use to display cars around the mall but now they stopped :/

I just called Lexus this morning, and they mentioned that they would send the manual for free for the first time. Thanks for the posting and I got lucky!!!

But the only problem now I have is the clinking/pinging/valve noise that I have been getting. I'll take it to the dealer with the additional info that I got from this posting.

Thanks for all the responses and I appreciate it.

I know you are using premium fuel but have you tried changing brands of fuel, just a shot in the dark? I use Shell premium and my LS engine is exceptionally quiet at all times. Do you know if the valve spring recall was performed? If so, they could have overlooked something. Maybe you can reproduce the noise with a service adviser in the car with you.
