I read in one of consumer reports auto issues that the LS460 is the first car ever tested by them to receive a score of 99/100. It still doesn't have the status of an S-class or 7-series, but I love the LS.

I wonder what determines the status of a car, the price? Something that shows you spent a lot of money and had the money to spend? For me, the LS represents a different sort of status--it says you're smart enough to spend money wisely.

I prefer the understated elegance of the LS460. Taking into account performance, safety, features and reliability it was an easy winner for me. The better price point makes it tops for value as well.

Nice find! Makes me feel even better about choosing the 460L over the S550.

LSatLM,
I just got my 2011 LS460 AWD 3 weeks ago, also smoky Granit Mica with black leather. The colour is great and the car superb. Worth the wait!

I thought about the S550 until I saw a review for the 460 from CR. Made my decision much easier

Same here. The S550 doesn't score well when it comes to maintenance so who needs that headache? I prefer the appearance of the LS.

I'm an extremely happy Lexus owner. No buyer's remorse here.
