Default Upgrading 2007 Navigation System

I know there are similar threads around but I wanted to get two specific answers from the pros in here.

If I upgrade my 2007 LS460 Nav software:

1. Will it change to the newer looking display found in later model cars (the gray/blue screen).

2. Will the "I agree" pest go away?

3. Is $300ish the general asking rate to get this done at a typical high volume dealer (South Florida -- the Land of LexI on every corner).

I just got a 2010 GS350 loaner and the "I agree" warning goes off by itself after a few seconds. The gray-blue graphics are bit crisper and nicer, too.

Thanks!

Thanks... that is pretty much what I thought, too.

So now I have to decide if $300 is worth it to get rid of the "I agree" pest and get a few updated poi's.

Not sure....

...and note to LEXUS... I know you've heard this before but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, in future cars get rid of that annoying lawer screen and let my passenger use ALL navi functions while I drive. Is pulling off to the side of the road really safer? The whole point of the navi is to explore new areas and see what is around on the fly... just like you can tell if a passanger is in the seat and activate their airbag, I'm sure you can activate the navi too when it senses weight in the seat.

Mercedes stopped trying to be my babysitter a loooong time ago.... ENOUGH ALREADY!

Default Pondering the override...

I'm thinking about the override. Seems like the product has good word of mouth here.

My concerns are me somehow messing up the interior while I install it. I'm assuming the radio/nav unit has to be pulled? The dash is so tight now... I'd hate to develop a squeek or rattle by goofing the install up.

...and about that little remote thingie with the two buttons... where to hide it so it is easily accessible yet invisible.

..and lastly, don't I need to upgrade anyways to get the I agree pest outt the way or does the override take care of that, too?

yes, you need to remove the nav. but the ls460 is pretty tight, shouldn't be a big problem. most of the stuff are held down by clips, that's the good thing

the buttons, if you want hidden, inside the center console is your best bet

yes, i agree thing, you need new nav. or if you are looking for ipod integration anyway, vaistech can do that too

I emailed Prestigious, they gave me the name of a local stereo shop that installed the override unit for $75. I had them install the buttons inside the center console on the driver's side so they are out of sight but easily accessible.
