Default 2009 LS460 Lease End-Help

This is by far the best car I have owned or leased. After driving the LS for the past 2 years I have no interest in going back to MB, BMW, Lincoln, etc. and no reservations about buying or leasing a new LS.

I am not sure the 2011 LS has anything more to offer from my 2009so I am considering buying it and waiting for a redesigned model in
2013 (?). The car has 40K miles and is in outstanding condition.
The buyout is $38,035.00.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

2011 is just a facelift, different bumpers and headlights, and navigation is different (newer generation) with some minor touches on interior. if you are happy with 09, i say buy it. no one knows about new model but i think maybe around 2013 as well.

welcome to clublexus!

If your buy out is only $38K after renting an 09 for 2 years, Id say thats a pretty good buy out price. If you like it, buy it.

I had a three year lease at the end I inquired about buying it back as a CPO. I turned it in got a loaner for the day while they did the CPO process. The cost was the buyout plus what the cost was buy the service department.

If the price is below the the book value galves or NADA, then go for it. I would if I really like it as you do. I love mine.

Any thoughts?

Do a background check on the guy who had the initial lease. If he was a decent guy, then buy the car.

Let us know what you find out!

38K for a 2009 with that mileage is a deal. Plus you know the history of it since you were driving it for the past 2 years.

The new model due to replace the LS460 wont come out for another 2-3 years. Do it .

In terms of the styling i prefer my 2008 LS460 to the 2010 and newer LS460's especially the tail lights. Also look at the center console where the Mark Levinson logo is if you have it or if you dont it will just be blank. Our 2008 and 2009 LS460's have a slick black gloss. The 2010 and 2011 LS460s have a grey plastic instead. Another thing i noticed was that the headlamp washers are built onto the front bumper in the newest LS460's. Mine are built into the headlight and to me it looks better. Anyhow those are just minor cosmetic differences .

Sounds like you really love your LS460. To me, looking at your scenario there are not enough changes in the 2011 model that would be worth paying a lot more money for and the ride will be the same maybe slightly more sporty if you go for the LS460 Sport.

Never did a lease but it wouldn't hurt for you to try and "scare" them into thinking that you wont buy the car unless they drop the $38k buyout price a little more if negotiable/possible .
