I received a mail about getting the valve springs fixed which we did but we have still not received the $500 towards service cost nor the $1500 off of the next purchase of a Lexus gift card that I hear mention of on this forum. Both are very appealing as my parents may be purchasing another car for my sister. Thank you in advance.

 

My understanding is the $500 only applies if you had an extended warranty. The $1,500 coupon should have been sent in a separate letter that you would have received a few days after you got the recall notice. Unfortunately, it is not transferrable, and the new car purchased must be registered in your name (the name on the coupon). At least, that's what they told me when I used mine.

 

I haven't received mine yet. I actually emailed Lexus of Silver Springs when they contacted me about my satisfaction of service for the recall. They contacted the person in the letter and relayed to me that it was supposed to come shortly. Still no certificate, and I actually wanted to purchase some parts.

 

I have the 1500.00 certificate, but haven't received my 500.00 gift card...

I have the extended warranty and a letter stating the card would arrive shortly.

I think my letter was dated Oct. 26th...

 

Or if you purchased your vehicle CPO you qualify for the 500 also

 

I am trying to understand my car is still under the regular warranty would I receive a $500 I took it to them this morning for the valve spring would they extend my warranty after the job is done

 

You get the $500 gift card ONLY IF you have ALREADY purchased an extended warranty at time of VSR. If not, as apparently in your case, you get the extension of your power train warranty. Not both.

 

If I bought my car used will I recieve a letter about the VSR?

 

You need to be the Registered owner of the vehicle so Lexus knows that you and your vehicle Vin are connected. If you have not registered because you bought the vehicle used and the previous owner/dealer is getting the paperwork, just sign up here https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home

after you register, make sure you log in and add your vehicle so your VIN is now connected to your name and address profile.

Lexus may be sending these out via your vehicle registration, but this is a good idea to have anyways, you can also see all of the maintenance that has been done at a dealership to date.

I was wondering if anyone had their gift card just the other day, it is nice to see this thread. I, too, am still waiting on the card, I did, however get the certificate for the 1,500.

 

I was told by Lexus Corp. today, I would receive the card by Dec. 22nd...

 

I was told by the manager at JM Lexus in Florida that they are way behind as I got my valve job done on the 15th of oct. I got the 1500 certificate but no 500 card. Letter says 2-3 weeks but thats long over due. He said in some cases owners will receive a longer powertrain warranty in lieu of the 500 gift card.

In anycase, he mentioned that they did mail some out but no sure when I;d get mine.

BTW - Has anyone had any issues with the valve job. Mine was back for smoking, they fixed number 7 cyliner plug pinched but I now her a very slight tick when driving 2-3 miles per hour. Anyone else have any issues? wish I had not done mine now.
