Wow.. I was quoted for 375 dollars for the navi update. Anywhere else cheaper? Especially in the Houston area?

That should save you $30, but you still have to take it to the dealer to get it installed.

I paid $322 total with tax for my navi update at lexus of austin last week. It's beyond ridiculous considering a brand new top of the line garmin cost $300-400. IF it updated the firmware and brought new features to the system that would be one thing..... but just map updates? What a joke.

Wow.. that will be a lot of money if doing it every year.

I wonder is it me only or maybe many others here may ask the same questions:

Is the new update coming in a CD/DVD disc? And can it be duplicated and DIY at home?

Or maybe it is coming in a soft version and the dealer tech must transfer the software within their facility?

Since most of the dealership sell the update directly so my guess the update should be in a disc and it is DIY-able. Any one try to jinx it with a dupe copy?

My dealer quoted 275 out the door for the update that just came out last month. Since my maps are 5 years old...it's time.

Not meaning to jack the thread or anything. Is it worth updating? My LS has never had any update. Curious on what changes occurs other than updated streets and such.. Just seems awfully expensive to update, like Dormie noted when u can just buy a garmin for a couple of hundred bucks..

Yeah, my navi has probably never been updated by the previous owner. I find myself using my sprint navigation on my palm pre..at least the updates are coming from the network servers and there has only been one time I can remember that it could not find a route. My biggest WTF moment was when I went to Memphis from ATL. Anyone that has traveled from ATL to Memphis knows that US 78 (future I-22) goes from Birmingham to Memphis, straight shot. road has been there before 2007 (year of my car) but according to my Navi, I am on a lunar moonscape lol..NAVI fail..I am only using it for Nav Traffic around the ATL metro and that isnt really that reliable either..oh well..guess I'll save the funds for now

Too much! The dealer will do 10.1 for $199 labor included. Check with Nalley Lexus in Smyrna. GA

The 460's nav is not DVD based it HDD and the update has to be loaded on via a computer, I'm waiting on my $500 gift card from Lexus then use for the NAV update. I would only update every 3 yrs if you don't travel a lot.

The one is Smyrna is Nalley Lexus, I have been meaning to try out Hennessy over on the NE side of the perimeter..i heard they have better service pricing.

$199, shoot I'll call em right now and use that when I get my $500 cert

UPDATE: Just called Hennessy Lexus on Peachtree, and it is $350 there also. Gotta buy the USB Key thing for around $200 something and hour labor...dang..hate to use my $500 cert on just that and maybe a couple oil changes, but hey..it's $500 for whatever, so I shouldn't complain. I'm sure I got 06 data in my HDD now

Default NAV update

Your'e right; it's Nalley, not Hennessy in Smyrna, GA. I'm going to get the update done with the spring valve replacement on the 29th. I keep reading about $500. All my letter said was $1,500 toward the purchase of another car. Was the $500 offer "selective"?

I took the car in this a.m. for the Spring Valve Replacement. I re-confirmed that the NAV upgrade is $199. They are going to do it after the VS work. I can't believe some dealers are charging $350 in the same area!

My svc advisor at Nalley said $350..the svc advisor at Hennessey said $350..so who did you talk to? I am not gonna be okie doked!! Which is why they need to post prices instead of this "oh, i think that would be around such and such" kinda crap
