California Duster
I use it, but only on dry, light dust. I only have silver and white cars. I would not use it on a dark color car, especially black. I stop buying dark color cars because I'm obsessed about scratches and swirl marks.
The product works but use it with very cautious, gentle, light motion.

i had it in the past as well, it works, but just make sure you "dry" the duster well from the beginning, coz' there are a lot of grease in it, if you don't prep it well, you get a lot of grease on the car. and only use it on light dry dust like bsl said, otherwise you do more harm than good
I wouldn't touch ANYTHING dry on the car!! If it's dirty or dusty, just wash it. I would never even use a car cover. One grain of sand is all that is needed to cause a problem. If you are not as **** as me and want it to generally look clean, then knock yourself out. But a reminder, don't try to look at the paint close, or under fleurescent (sp.) light.
i have used mine for years on my white acura TL, half attempted this on my LS the other day and didn't even want to risk it because it has been used so many times..for light touch up, it should be fine..i plan on getting a new one just for my black LS
Has anyone used this product?
What are your thoughts about it?
I would have never used this product except that a number of years ago I stayed at a hotel that was hosting a Ferrari owners club event. Every one of those guys was using the duster on their cars. There aren't many cars that get more pampering than a Ferrari, so I bought one ......... the duster, not a Ferrari!
Just make sure you follow the instructions.

When I picked up my wifes Mazda CX-9 from the dealer when it was new, the sales person tried to impress me, and used a california duster on the car as I pulled up to pick up my brand new dark blue car. I got out of my car screaming for him to stop, lol. Well, I still have swirl marks that I didn't get a chance to remove because of his act of kindness! I've had too many new cars finishes ruined from dealers. My Lexus looked like someone washed it with brillo pads!!, Ok, I'm exagerrating (sp.) but to me it looked bad, and might as well been washed with brillo! I am going to go to a Ferrari detailer to have the paint correction done on Thursday. Just to show you how **** I am, I worked on it the best I can. It looks a million times better than it did, but I brought it in to the dealer today to have an inspection done and the service writer was freaking out at how shiny it looked. He called the other service writers over and was asking what wax I used (BTW I use Zaino). I am still not happy because even though I got the swirl marks out. There are some scratches visible at the right angle that were caused by the car wash that the dealer did, once again, to impress me, wow I'm impressed now! jk. From now on, when I buy a new car, I tell them that I will prep my own car and I want it delivered dirty! Most people will think I'm nuts, but if you see my 2001 Porsche that I prepped myself, you wouldn't believe your eyes. The paint looks way better than the brand new cars in the showroom!! I'm not kidding.

I just got my car professionally detailed because there were some marks from car washes that I couldn't get out with swirl-x. I asked him about the california duster. He said "you can't imagine how much business those things gave to us detailers". Apparently he agrees with me about not touching them to your car. This guy was very ****, works in a shop that mainly does work and restorations on Ferrari's. He was recommended to me by a friend of mine that is also a detailer, and Ferrari owner. My friend used to be the only one I trusted with my cars, but he told me that this guy was better than him and pretty much the best on Long Island! He was right, the guy did an amazing job. They charge about $50-$60 per hour, and work very slow. but if you are meticulous like me, it is well worth it.
have used it in the past for light dusting, it does work but does get greasy if its not properly cared for ended up being more of a hassle getting the greasy spots out so I just wash it rather than dust it.
Taking care of a black car is very ****, it depends on how dusty your car is, if light then its okay, but if heavy I reccommend washing it. I do paint correction and detail on the car myself very labor intensive! At first it will leave greasy streaks on your car and would potentially cause swirl marks if you try to scrub it off using quick detail. I agree with up4speed, everytime I bring the car in for service I always ask them not to wash it lol, you can't believe how much swirls their car wash puts on the car, ridiculous.
