WHILE I WAS DRIVING I HIT A NICE SIZE POtHOLE ,THE ABS OFF LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND THE VCS OFF LIGHT CAME ON ,FOR A WHILE ...THEN IT WENT OFF..........I WAS WONDERING WHAT WAS THE CAUSE .....

 

A pothole? In Brooklyn? Get out!

Most likely you jarred a sensor on the wheel. You should have it checked next time you're in for service.

And don't SHOUT.

 

shouldn't go over deep pot holes....

even bmw7 does show those lights when you go over deep holes....

of course, if you were driving prius, it will do that too...some prius says the car has brake failure problem, but nope it is not.

you are lucky that it didnt damage your rims

 

are u sure it wasn't just a TRC light that was flashing? Because LS brake system is by-wire and u no longer feel ABS working (wheels skiding) on brake pedal. It only starts to flash TRC light on the panel to let you know that ABS is working at the moment...so if you were touching brake pedal while hitting that pathole, it would explain everything...

If u some water on the road, try braking on that water to make wheels skid, and ABS working, and just watch lights on your panel..or go to some bigger speed and slam brake pedal as hard as you can...
