Default My Third LS

Well, this one was a really tough decision, and I've been thinking about my replacement for my 2007 LS460 LWB for a few months now. After researching just about every conceivable alternative, I concluded that the LS460 is still the best deal out there for luxury vehicles at competitive prices, so I took delivery of my 2010 LS460 two days ago.

I went with black/tan, SWB, comfort plus and ML audio. The comfort plus cost a few thousand more than the comfort package, but I liked the extra leather and the massage in the rear seats. I wish they would put massage in the front seats like Mercedes and BMW, but I guess they don't want to do anything to distract the driver.

In any case, it felt a bit anticlimatic, since my 2010 car looks almost exactly like my 2007. If it were not for my lease ending this month, I would have been perfectly happy to continue driving my 2007. I hardly notice any difference at all. It is nice to have the SWB model though. I always felt like I was driving a limousine with the LWB.

The nav system in the 2010 definitely has a few nice tweaks, but otherwise I don't notice much difference inside the car. The grille is ofcourse slightly revised, as are the tail lights, but most people who are used to seeing my car will likely not notice the difference.

I'll post additional comments about the 2010 changes once I have a chance to put some more mileage on the car.

In any case, I'm very pleased to know that I'll have the trusty Lexus badge for the next three years. While I was moderately excited about trying out a Mercedes, the fear of their renowned lack of reliability gave me enough pause to pass. And, the money factor on their leases right now was simply not competitive with Lexus.

On a final note, this was my first purchase from Longo Lexus in El Monte, CA. I can't say that I have had much of anything positive to say from my last two dealers, but I am very impressed with Longo. They negotiated the entire deal with me over the phone, gave me a very fair price, and got me in and out of the dealership within 30 minutes, which even included dropping off the old car. They were also the only dealer that had the black/tan in stock. All of the other dealers acted like they were doing me a favor by finding me a car and wanted something close to MSRP. Longo just wanted to sell some cars. And with 1,000 in inventory, I can understand why. In any case, I highly recommend them for anyone in Southern Cal looking to purchase.

Happy Holidays to all and thanks to everyone for their advice over the past few months!
