CNN.com has a big intro Flash Lexus LS sponsored front page today to showcase their re-designed website. It only flashes one time (probably sets a cookie), so don't look away from your monitor or you might miss it altogether. The page also has a Lexus.com link. Probably paid a few pesos for this plug.

Neat, I was surprised they redesigned the website already...the "All New LS" was also a key sponsor in late 2006.

 

There is also a new LS commercial thats pretty good. Highlights the 460, AWD, Sport model, then 600hL.

Does Lexus really think anyone buys the LS for the self park ability? Maybe back in late 2006 but why do they stick with the same old advertising slogans. Someone should do a poll for LS owners about the self park feature. I'd give self parking #1 as the most useless feature on our LS.

 

In addition to HS ads, there are now billboards for the 2010 LS up in LA...now on the image-rotating digital billboards...I snapped this one near Santa Monica, and it rotates between 3 (1 for the LS 8-speed transmission, IIRC), plus other ads (please excuse resized pic quality).

 

Me, me , me... Actually, APGS weighed heavily in my decision to upgrade to the 600. My first 460 did not have it, and I pined for it in my dreams. It took me a couple of weeks to get the hang of it, but now use it daily - it does a fine predictable job every time.

Actually, now that you mention the self park feature, has any other manufacturer been able to offer it?

 

Ford is supposed to bring out a variation of it in 2010. BMW, M-B, and even Skoda were working on this feature, but I cannot see it on the website. On the other hand, they do have Lane Keeping which Lexus is finally making available in N.A.

Everytime I visit Cali I see Lexus billboards all over the place (and really good ones too). Can't say the same for the NYC/NJ/ Philly area.
