This video is a nice public service but I have always heard it is not a good idea to touch the surface of the battery as it might leave oils/salts that might cause corrosion and impede the connection. So, if true, you might want to be careful when inserting the battery.

Toyota dealership here told me they do it for under $3 and they even do it for you..they'll even test it to make sure your remote is the problem

and i'll add that you can use the tip of the pull out key to pry the fob open if you don't have a flat head screwdriver handy. nifty.
