Default Wheel question (if money is an object)

Team -

I'm pondering a set of 19's for my girl (SWB LS 460 hence no air suspension). I've gone the crazy mod route with other cars in the past and just want to upgrade my wheels on this car. I tend to be pretty traditional taste-wise, with lipped wheels definitely being my true love.

Anyway, I'm interested in suggestions that present the best overall bang for the buck (strength, weight, use of pressure sensors). I don't want to go any larger than a 19 and I won't be making any suspension mods.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

19" wheels are OK for wheels without lips, but 19" wheels with prominent lips will look very small on the car IMHO ......

I'm definitely okay with prominent lips. I should add that I am a fan of the german autosport look (see MB), so chrome is not an option.

Money IS an object (even if it is on an $82K car) .. I went with the Lexus 7-spoke 19" wheels. They look OUTSTANDING (IMHO), and Sewell offers a set of (4) for $1200 ..

That looks great for OEM wheels.

I like them a lot and love the idea of a lexus wheel strength/reliability wise. Anyone out there care to comment on the ride change from the 18 to 19 on SWB LS460? I'd stay all season touring for rubber to preserve ride quality as best as possible...

My 2007 LS460L had 18" wheels (Telios), and the 19" wheels, on my 2009 LS360L make a BIG difference. Not as much of the "boat" feel as you corner (a definite improvement in cornering). Otherwise, the ride is comparable to the 18".

RE: Warranty. Before I went to 19" wheels, my dealer reviewed with the Lexus field service technician. The change to 19" wheels was not an issue (below is a copy from my eMail exchange).

Q: Are you / Lexus comfortable swapping for 19” wheels / rubber ?
A: It is do-able and I have the blessing from our Field Technical Specialist’ to go 18” up to 19” as well as a 19” down to 18”.

Q: How does Lexus feel about warranty claims if the wheels are +1 sized ? (an issues ?)
A: Going up to a 19” will have no effect on any warrantable operations.

BTW: Thanks for the compliments ! I, too, am VERY happy (and surprised) with the look. Better than I expected.

I like the look of the seven spoke. I like the 5 spoke touring wheels on my car though I was told that adding them to a non-touring car was REAL expensive.
