How do you do that?

Default Air conditioning problem

When I restart my 2008 460l I get a clicking noise behind the glove box and while this happens you cannot work any functions of the ac/heat. After about 1-2 minutes The a/c shows an off sign and then it can be turned on and is set at 75 degrees. It does not matter ifyou turn off system before you shut off car. After the car is cut off you may hear the noise and it may repeat itself . I would think this would be some sort of blend door problem.

Wow..this thread is from 2008!!

Sounds like your cabin air filter mechanism is faulty. I wonder if the filter was changed at one point and they didnt follow the proper steps

Question Shut off AC before leaving car?

In the old days you'd shut off the a/c before you leave the car. Is this still the case?

I'm having a very strange problem with my air conditioning unit that the dealer has never seen before. Each time I start up the car, the air conditioner initially fails to turn on. It seems to try to start up for about a minute. The green A/C light comes on, but no air blows out. Then, after about a minute, a message shows up on the nav screen saying "Air Conditioner off". The green light also turns off.

If I then press the A/C button again, the green light comes on, and after about 15 seconds, the air starts to blow and the unit appears to be fine.

This process happens consistently, each and every time I start up the car. The only time it may not go through this cycle is if I just turned the car off within the last few minutes and then start it up again, in which case the air conditioning seems to work fine.

I suspect when I went to the dealer, they did not pay much attention to what was happening the first time they started the car, and then on each successive restart, the symptom failed to reappear because the A/C unit seems to start fine if it was just running within the last few minutes. The dealer says they have never seen this before and was unable to solve the problem.

Has anyone else seen this, or have any idea what might be going on?

Having a similar problem in my 2013 GS350 F-Sport..

After the car has been sitting overnight. I turn the car on in the morning, and the A/C is off and all my temp settings are back to 75° and the fan is off.....

I know it's not LS related, but any help is greatly appreciated!

I have a 2007 is350 that is blowing hot air out of the rear vents attached to the center console when the AC is on and both the left and right vents in the front are blowing ice cold air as they should.
