Default Customer Settings

I am reading in the gigantic LS manual that you can change certain settings yourself without going to the dealer.
The one I am interested in is cancelling the door locking when shifting from park. I have followed what I thought were the instructions in the manual but nothing changes. I am not getting the " doors will lock and unlock " confirmation so obviously I am an idiot and am doing it incorrectly, any hints out there?
Thanks

The Dealer should be able to set any of these Personalized Settings for you at no charge. Changes in settings are acomplished by a special electronic tool. See attachment:

As mentioned for that you will need the IPC ( Intellingent Portable Computer ) once its connected to the car. The feature can be disabled.

It is possible to change some of the door locking behaviour by yourself.

I remember having to make numerous attempts but I eventually got it to work.
