Default LS 600 HL batteries

I had a friend tell me the batteries are located in the trunk. I thought they're located under the rear seat? Does anyone know where the batteries are located on the 600H? He said they're in the trunk and that's why the trunk is so small. I have the short wheel base model and the trunk is smaller than my LS 430. He says you can't even fit a golf bag in the trunk...

I am just curious...

Thanks,

Craig

i believe it's indeed in the trunk area, part of the reason why it's small (and on top also the rear AC unit). the 600hl trunk is a tad smaller than the 460l trunk with rear seat upgrades, but you can definitely fit at least a golf back in it. if you can fit one in the gs450h, you can fit that in the ls600hl

there's a thread before with pics of the 600hl apart showing the battery, let me see if i can find it

btw, below the rear seats, i believe it's the gas tank

here you go

from the picture i'd assume the battery is the thing in the trunk behind the spare tire, but to take it out you need to remove rear seats to disconnect some harnesses

Thanks Henry! I had no idea how heavy the battery pack is. For some reason, I thought it was located under the rear seat.

In the RX 400h it is located under the rear seat.

Thanks, that's what I thought about the RX 400H. I also thought the 600 was the same...

yup, the rx400h is under the rear seat. now seeing how "small" the battery is, i can see why the trunk size is more or less the same as ls460l with rear seat upgrades

i am very curious how heavy the battery is too. my bet is probably around 200-300lbs?
