Question Does your key drain your cell phone battery?

Just got my LS 460 this weekend and I notice my cell phone battery (Treo 700) is now fully drained at least once a day. I use an extended life battery and usually need to charge only every few days. I've been keeping them both in my pocket now I keep them apart. Wondering if there's a chip conflict. Has anyone else had this experience?

I have never had any problem with battery drain and I have my cell with me all the time everyday.

Same here, I always have my cell phone with me and haven't had a problem with battery drain...

You might try to put your phone in a different pocket than your remote...
I don't keep them in the same pocket...

I have not been paying attention, but now I think I will be under the placebo effect.

Rominl has it - the Bluetooth drains the cell phone's battery much faster than usual, since it has to maintain a constant connection between the car and the phone.

Some Bluetooth systems are better than others (frankly, my LS doesn't drain my phone as fast as some others I've used), and of course, some phones are better than others at maintaining a charge.

I have the Treo 650, and yes, the bluetooth does seem to drain the battery. If I take a trip, therefore in the car for 5 or so hours, by the time I get to my destination I have to check the battery status and usually must get it recharged. This did not happen in my prior Lexus that didn't have the bluetooth setup. Can't you just get a car charger? I lost mine and haven't gotten off my butt to get another one.

I have Bluetooth on all the time, and it connects not only with the car, but other systems as well.

My two year old Nokia battery needs recharging every three days on average.

Yup, bluetooth drains phones fast, just like wireless drains laptops...

On the keys however if you have 2 SmartAccess keys close together they will drain each other.
