Cruising range Issue
Ive been noticing that every time i refuel my car my cruising range is getting less. I remember in my first ride the cruising range was 697 KM. 2 weeks ago it was showing 570 KM. Now everytime i refuel i get 530 KM. Is that normal or i need to take my car for a checkup ?

it constantly recalculate itself depending on your previous range, your driving habits, etc... when i had my ls460l, cruising range raised and then dropped after i put on 22s
on my gs350, recently i drive a lot more freeways and the range keeps on rising refuel after refuel
so take away your lead foot

Thanx henry for your explanation. Theoretically speaking the cruising range when i fuel my car and the car is still should show a cruising range of 697 KM.
I started to think my fuel container is smaller than other LS's LOL. A friend of mine told me exactly what youve said. But i didnt believe him. Im like "Man common the car has a brain to think?". Container should show the same reading. BTW my friends average for petrol consumbtion is 9.8L/100 KM mines is 15.6 L/100 KM.
So its to do with the habits you sure no need for a checkup.

If you want to increase your Range instantly, reset all your settings to zero - the ones you can anyway. You'll notice your Range increases immediately. This has to do with your City/Highway mix that accumulates over time. When you first use the car, it has no history or data accumulated, so your Range appears high. However, if the proportion of your City driving starts to outweigh your Highway driving, your Range will drop significantly, just as it has in your case. Remember however, these figures are summations that are affected by many driving conditions (hills, idling, performance, operation) and so on. Your LS will actually improve its performance over time, so the numbers that Lexus and the EPA publish are your best "average" indicators.
