Question IS200 fuel consumption

Hi

Does anyone else have an IS200? What fuel consumption do you get? I get 27mpg when most of my driving is cruising at 70-80mph. Lexus say 29mpg for the "combined" figure and 36mpg for the "extra-urban" so 27 is pretty rubbish for that sort of journey - I was expecting to get low 30s at least. (I've just replaced a 2.0 16v Vauxhall (GM) Cavalier that had 135bhp and did 35-40mpg easy. )

Perhaps I'm missing the point - the IS200 is definitely quicker and more responsive AND it's not even falling apart.

Forget about gas mileage what you need to start worrying about is what you can do to make your car go faster and look better yeah yeah more power more speed

I little tasteful styling would be cool but my wife wouldn't understand why after spending close to the average annual salary in the UK on a car I would want to buy prettier alloys etc... Come to think of it perhaps she's got a point - it's gonna take me 5 years just to pay for the car. (So no money for fuel!)

How does an IS200(or 300) compare to the the average salary in the US? (In the UK the average is 21,000 pounds - the same as a new IS200 Sport, an IS300 is about another 8,000 pounds on top of that.)

Tax free car and subsidised fuel - hey that's the way to do it. We gotta guy at work commutes from Bristol to Slough(!!) and he just took an IS200 as his company car - he don't care about the fuel cause he gets it paid.

Interesting piccy - looks like a relaxing time to snap some photos!
