thanks mike. yes i remember reading that part in the manual. however, 5w-20 is still different from 5w-30, which is used in all other lexus models. rjm stated he asked dealership and got 5w-30 being used in all lexus cars, that's what i don't agree on

Wow, is that about synthetic oil or snake oil?
What a sales pitch!
I've had lots of experience with synthetic oils in both cars and motorcycles, Greg, and I like it fine. I just think it's a little over-hyped, but I wouldn't discourage anyone form using it.
But my discussion had to do with whether Lexus ships its cars with synthetic or mineral oil, and it appears they just don't come from the factory with synthetic ...
